TIPS FOR TOURISTS

If you want to take a taxi to go to your hotel be smart and arrange a taxi service before you arrive in Lima. If you want to take a taxi when you arrive in Lima, take one inside the airport. They will charge a little bit more but it is safe. You won´t be robbed. If you look for a taxi out of the airport many taxi drivers will come to you and make noise. It will be a problem. Taxi drivers will yell taxi, taxi, cheap taxi. Sometimes tourists are robbed after taking those taxis. For example: when you arrive to your hotel the taxi driver will charge you per person, or will charge you per suitecase or bag. Taxi service is 10 dollars for taking you to a hotel near lima airport. At the airport the taxi drivers have to pay the parking. At the airport of Lima the parking place is $ 1.8 almost two dollars.
More examples about bad taxi drivers: when you arrive to your hotel bad drivers will charge you more than ten dollars, the taxis driver will tell you are three people so you have to pay per person. If you are three people you will pay 30 dollars. It is not faire. If you are one tourist the driver will try to charge you ten dollars more for your bag. Be smart if you want to take a taxi by yourself. Do not pay more than ten dollars. Never take a taxi outside of the airport. Some are bad people. They are just waiting to rob tourists. When you want to go back to the airport from your hotel, take a taxi recommended by the hotel. When you make a reservation in a hotel also ask for a taxi to go to the airport to pick you up.
